Device Pin Blocked ( Z10 )

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help..

I purchased a Z10 and sent it out to my wife, on entering her sim it says 'Device Pin Blocked' and stops her from doing anything.

Item is brand new, unused, direct from a retail store in the uk, but is now with my wife in Singapore.

any suggestions as to what it is or how to get it functional please?

Re: Device Pin Blocked ( Z10 )

Was the device unlocked for use on a mobile network other than the one from which it was branded?

Where did you purchase the device? You should call them and give them the PIN to ask them to check the PIN in case it had been reported lost or stolen.

Re: Device Pin Blocked ( Z10 )

Item was purchased in phones4U as a sim free phone for use on any network.

Was sealed .. so surely not lost or stolen ..

I can contact 4u, but i believe they will come some nonesense about it being more than 14 days old and not their problem.

Frustrating, wasnt a cheap paperweight Smiley Sad

Re: Device Pin Blocked ( Z10 )

Why? Have you waited 14 days?

You can still call them, don't you have this consumer protection rights in the UK? A PIN blocked device would be replaced or refunded for sure.

Re: Device Pin Blocked ( Z10 )

Its not that i have waited 14 days, but by the time my sife can ship it back from singapore its going to likely be more than 14 days..

I will try callign 4u, see what they suggest, if not i;ll have to argue fit for purpose i guess

Re: Device Pin Blocked ( Z10 )

Exactly, call them now, to establish the beginning of the request (within the 14 day period).

Doesn't matter, if the device is blocked or they sold you a faulty device, they'd need to replace it regardless.
