Distribution groups on email and text

I just got the Z10 switching from a long list of previous blackberrys. I can't find a way to do a group message in either email or text. Please help. I know it has a field for recommending people but I don't want to hit each individual every time when I'm sending multiple messages each day to large groups of people.

Re: Distribution groups on email and text

I don't believe you can do this device side on BB10, but rather you would need to setup the distribution group through Outlook, or your desktop side email.

Ut oh, it does not look good.  Smiley Sad  I did some googling and found this thread....

http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/General-BlackBerry-10-Smartphone/Creating-a-distribution-list...

And it looks like Blackberry missed this feature and further the outlook solution may not work either.

A last resort would be a mail server based solution, which you may not have access to, BUT if you do, you can setup an email on the server that forwards the mail to the distribution list.  We do this at the forum I manage.  I have an email I use that forwards to all the moderators under me at CrackBerry.com.  I just send the email to that address (NO I'm not listing it here, LOL), and it goes out to all my mods.  Smiley Happy   That had to be setup on an email server though.  Most likely an Exchange server.

Very disappointing. Hope they fix it soon. I'm assuming that since some people have 10.2 and it is not fixed there either.

I read on twitter a few days back a BlackBerry program manager commenting that this feature was being added back, gave no timeline, etc. Remember, 10.2 is yet unreleased, and likely unfinished.

Re: Distribution groups on email and text

Thanks for the information. I mistakenly thought that some carriers had 10.2 already.
