Thank you for your question.
Plain text only email settings are currently unsupported on the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone.

Well it's not a very smart smartphone then. It is a pain. I send messages to email lists which wipe html. This means I cannot use my Z10 to send messages to these lists. Please do something about this.

We use basecamp a lot (millions do) and my primary method of updating/responding to various threads does not work without the plaintext email option.
This is a needed feature, hopefully you can get it in soon.

Are there any plans to implement plaintext email in future version of the OS?
Plaintext mail is the basic function for what email was designed - how can somone create an email client which is not capable of sending plaintext? It is nice to have html or richtext as an addon, but without plaintext email Blackberry disregards an important feature.

I too have an issue with not being able to send plain text e-mails from my Z10. I learned this only yesterday when I tried to post a mesasge to a listserv on Yahoo. I had to log into the yahoo web-site and access the listserv that way from my phone - not very efficient. From now on I may have to type those message from my desktop.
This issue of not being able to send plain text e-mails really needs to be address in an update - Thank you,

This is also a significant issue for me. And it's a source of irritation because there was no indication from BB that "plain text" was being scrapped from BB10. I still haven't heard a sensible explanation as to why. My understanding is that the Z10 is supposed to pick up whatever your email account settings are from where they reside, as opposed to being capable of being modified directly on the Z10. But even when I tried this, and made sure that my accounts were set to "plain text" as default, it hasn't been picked up by the Z10, or if it has, it soon defaults back to html from the Z10.

This is a deal-breaker for me. I'm still within the 14 day exchange period and am seriously considering returning my Z10 to the vendor.
