Jumping from Z10 to Z30 or wait for Passport?

I'm thinking to swap my device from Z10 to Z30. Is it a good decision to jump to Z30 or shall I wait for Passport to get released.

P.S. Am afraid to buy a device as soon as it hit the market because of the less support forums and less known issues. Smiley Wink

Re: Jumping from Z10 to Z30 or wait for Passport?

Without a doubt, you want to wait for the Passport. Don't get me wrong, the Z30 is the best phone I've ever used (by far) but the Passport promises to be even better. Do yourself a favor and search up the specs of the Passport and I'm sure you'll agree. It should be released within a few weeks so you don't have long to wait. And don't worry about support for it, if we don't have all the answers at first we know where to find them.

Cheers. Smiley Happy

Re: Jumping from Z10 to Z30 or wait for Passport?

I have the Z10 currently too. And I'm also curious about the Passport device. I believe the Z30 is too similar to Z10. It's like a fanatic Iphone user buying the new Iphone every 12 months when its new model comes out...that's what I mean by too similar by design.

Honestly it all depends on what your preference in a phone device is. For e.g. I bought the Z10 because I enjoy watching movies on a more rectangular wider screen. Before the Z10 I was really into the physical QWERTY keyboard but the screen size was compromised during movie/media watching (too small of a screen).

The Passport on the other hand has a big screen but it's more squarish big. I'd still consider it but I rather wait for some reviews on Youtube and forums. There are other factors I would consider in the phone, such as its battery life, internal storage, RAM, and the rear camera accessory (quality and stabilisation).

The BB10 OS is great. I enjoy its functionality. Actually just today I installed IOS8 on my work phone, iPhone 5C, and I have to say Apple is starting to pick up on some handy functionalities in their OS.

Re: Jumping from Z10 to Z30 or wait for Passport?

Hi!

Passport isn't a choice for that ones sticked on high video usage. Most of video have format 16:9, small amount of them have format 4:3 and no one has format 1:1 as Passport has. It means video has to be cutted or screen has to be used partialy. Passport is great device, but it is business device at first line, not a multimedia toy.

Re: Jumping from Z10 to Z30 or wait for Passport?

That's true, it's not a multimedia toy. And yes it is a business device but it's great to have an all in one. Some business related work is multimedia related. Its not just for movies, but as I mentioned...my personal taste is to be able to watch movies hence why I jumped on to the Z10 because I was able to do business related work plus enjoy movies on a wider screen when I'm on my break.

I think the Passport is eye candy and as mentioned I'm still considering the device dependent on post release reviews.

Re: Jumping from Z10 to Z30 or wait for Passport?

You have well-balanced position, so it supposed to have well-balanced smart. Passport isn't well-balanced smart,
And just another one notice: swap to Z30 from Z10 isn't "Iphone illness". Z30 has definitely very useful feature: I talk about USB OTG. It means You can use USB flashes and You have to be agreed it's important, I think.

I have both the Z10 and Z30, basically they are the same phone, the most noticable difference is the size of the screen between tthem, the Z30is bigger, but you can still use itwith only one hand, and because of the bigger screen it is easier to read anything on the Z30.

The Z30 also has a faster cpu, italso support OTG USB, as well as miracast and direct WIFI

Using the Playbook and the Z10 and the Z30 and loving them

Re: Jumping from Z10 to Z30 or wait for Passport?

To me an important lack of the Z30 is the battery is not replaceable. I know it has a battery that is suppose to last a long time.

THE BITTERNESS OF POOR QUALITY, LINGERS LONG AFTER THE CHEAPNESS OF PRICE, IS SOON FORGOTTEN.
