Media Volume buttons on the right side of the phone

what is the use of media volume buttons on the right side of the phone.

don't reduce or increase phone's volume, for example incoming call ringing volume

Re: Media Volume buttons on the right side of the phone

I think it's a good system, I always want ringing at highest volume so as not to miss calls, I'm on prepaid so it uses my airtime  to call back.

No, one has to go to Notifications anyway to change to silent or vibrate only.

Re: Media Volume buttons on the right side of the phone

searched a lot on web but couldn't find what i needed... finally self exploration worked...

<< System Settings -> Main Volume -> Volume Keys Always adjust Media volume - OFF>>

The above enables to use the device volume or media volume buttons on the outside of the phone to increase or decrease ringer volume (with going in Settings -> Notifications)

I am very releaved having found this.

Hope it helps new users.

Excellent

Saw that setting, but never bothered to check it out as I am happy with the default setting.
