Re: Message Hub Missing/Black

Have you called your carrier to report this issue to their Blackberry support team yet?

Re: Message Hub Missing/Black

Has anyone had any luck when none of the above actions are working?

- Security Wipe + Apply OS Updates: no change
- Security Wipe without OS Updates: no change
- 5-diagonal swipes: no change
- Waiting for "hub to load": no change
- Battery Pull and wait: no change

As it stands, it feels as though the hub is permanently broken, and I'd hate to have to return the device.

Fingers crossed someone has a brilliant idea...

How about resetting the phone to factory settings, this will bring the phone back to when you bought it and the updates are already installed when you start using it.

You need to use BlackBerry Link to do it

Re: Message Hub Missing/Black

Thanks for the suggestion. Downloading Link now.

As well - I'm a little confused by your suggestion: you indicated that it would reset the phone to the state at purchase (which didn't have the OS update applied) but then you indicate "updates are already installed when you start using it".

Can you clarify? Would a factory settings reset move the device to a pre-update or a post-update state?

When a factory reset is done, it will always install the latest version of the OS, which means that the updates will be there when you restart the phone.

BTW some people also refer to this as debricking

Re: Message Hub Missing/Black

Having the exact same problem.

Did the update, and suddenly Hub is gone / black, text not working (only BBM is working), no emails appearing. Very very frustrated.

Re: Message Hub Missing/Black

I've rebooted, I've pulled the battery twice, I tried your diagonal swipe thing but absolutely nothing happens...I need my messages and texting and hub back.

Re: Message Hub Missing/Black

I had bring my phoine to ground zero. Essentialy reset the machine.  I only had for a couple of weeks so didn't lose much.  I would sync your phone to save any files you have on there.  Reset the entire phone.  It means you need to set up you email(s) again and add any apps that yuou downloaded ( i believe - as not sure if sync saves them).

Pain in the butt.  I didn't have any issues after i did this.
