Pairing with Command in 2011 Mercedes

Really want to buy Z10 but no carrier can tell me if it will pair with my 2011 Mercedes. My Storm has no problems. Has anyone successfully paired the 10 with a 2011 Mercedes? I can upgrade with Verizon but they want a restocking fee if I bring it back and their local store here says they doubt it will successfully pair. Thank you.

Re: Pairing with Command in 2011 Mercedes

Hey NLindstedt,

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

Thanks for the question.

It will pair the same way as the BlackBerry Storm 9550 smartphone.  However there is a Bluetooth service called SIM access profile which is currently not available on the BlackBerry Z10.  I would suggest contacting Mercedes to see if that service is required.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Cheers.

Re: Pairing with Command in 2011 Mercedes

Thank you for the reply. May I correctly assume that the "Bluetooth service called SIM access profile" was also not available on the Storm 9550? If it was not so available, may I then conclude that since the Storm linked with the Command system, the Z10 will also link?

Re: Pairing with Command in 2011 Mercedes

Hey NLindstedt,

Thanks for the prompt reply.

SIM access profile Bluetooth service is available for the BlackBerry Storm 9550 smartphone.  That is why I would double check with Mercedes to see if it is required to use the Bluetooth handsfree connection on your vehicle.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Cheers.

Re: Pairing with Command in 2011 Mercedes

In case anyone else has this question. The Z10 WILL pair with the command system in a 2011 Mercedes. Check mercedes-benz-mobile.com and you will see that they have listed the Z10 as compatable with various software versions for AT&T and Verizon and maybe T Mobile. I have successfully paired my Z10 althought I have not yet transferred all of my contacts.

I can confirm.

The Z10 pairs perfectly with the 2012 Mercedes.
