Partner search for mailing lists

Partner search for Exchnage mailing lists doesn't show the right name (Display name) but the Alias name which is not the handy one usually.

Re: Partner search for mailing lists

hello,

can you explain what you mean by "partner search" ?
and can you give the example with what is displayed on Outlook for that recipient and what is displayed on your Z10?
It will be easier for me to understand.

Re: Partner search for mailing lists

Hello, Yes. In contacts I try to search for names I do not have in the partner list of the phone, so I use serach on the server function. Here for mailing lists of Outlook I see: MANAGEMENTTEAM_FACILITY_A@example.com Instead of what I can see in outlook: FACILITY A, MANAGEMENT It works fine for mailboxes, team mailboxes. Is it more understandable? Thank you for helping me out!

Re: Partner search for mailing lists

you can solve this issue on server side, by asking the Exchange administrators to set a correct CN field for that email address (CN stands for Common Name).

on your Z10 you can also simply fix this, by adding that address as a contact, and in the contact, set the name you want. You're in control in this case, and it takes 2 minutes.

Re: Partner search for mailing lists

Well, we have checked with the specialists. There is no CN in Exchange. The mentioned problem occurs when I try to search Mailing Lists. Mailboxes are ok.

The CN can be the so called Display Name in Exchange which is set of course, that's why I was wondering where to find the in the phone.

It worked very well with BES and BB 5-6-7.

To make it more simple: I work for a big organisation, not for a small company, so it is not an option to easily add every single mailing list to my BB. I use more than 100 and not always the same ones.

I assume it is a BUG in BB OS 10???

Re: Partner search for mailing lists

hi, I have just checked in Outlook (we have an Exchange 2010 server). Out mailing lists do have an x500 setting with /o , /ou as well as a /cn .

on the other hand in the x400 there is a s but no g (given name).
