Problems with automatic switch from Wifi to service provider's data service

Hi i am having problems with my new Z10 blackberry phone. I am connection to the internet service by Wifi (where avaliable) and through my service provider's plan. The problem arise when l leave the coverage area of my service provider instead of swithcing automatically to my service provider, its gives me a message that i have lost connection despite my settings are for automatic switch. To resolve the problem i have to turn my phone off & remove the battery and replaace the battery to reboot the phone, then it works fine until i move back into a wifi coverage area.

CAN YOU HELP PLEASE.

Re: Problems with automatic switch from Wifi to service provider's data service

Hello obsidian and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

Sorry to hear you're having connection issues.

What's your software version? (Settings>About>OS)?

To clarify, when you leave a WiFi network you are unable to connect to the internet until you do a reboot?

If you were to manually turn off your WiFi, what happens? Do you get any error? Can you use data services?

Thanks!

Re: Problems with automatic switch from Wifi to service provider's data service

Hi,

My software version is 10.0.9.348.

Yes whenever i leave a wifi network it should automatically switch to my data package (it did this on my old blackberry bold), but it does not switch and gives me an error message that i am not connected to the network server. However once i root by taking the battery out & replacing, it works fine.

If i manually switch off the wifi & reboot it works fine. But if  wifi is on & leave the coverage area i am no longer connected to the server or data services.

My old balckberry always connects to the server either by wifi or though my data package (from my service provider) i don't have to reboot it connects automatically.

PLEASE HELP.

Re: Problems with automatic switch from Wifi to service provider's data service

We would need to analyse device logs on this issue.

It's recommended you contact your mobile network carrier and ask them to open a support ticket with BlackBerry support.

Thanks!

I have now installed OS version 10.0.10.82 and it seems to have resolved the problem. I'll leave it for anothe couple of days just to be sure.

Re: Problems with automatic switch from Wifi to service provider's data service

Glad to hear the software update correct the issue.

Should it return, it would be advised you call your carrier to open a support ticket to investigate.

Thanks!
