Problems with data connection

Hi!

 

I hope I do not double post now... I'm sorry, if I did!

 

My Z10 show "H" (big letter), the blackberry-logo and full radio signal at the top right corner. Still I am not able to use mail or the browser.

Sometimes, like accidentally it works for some minutes. (It needed 4.5 hours to day, to send an email...)

The above mentioned logo, H and signal bars do not change, if it works, or not.

 

Any ideas how to solve the problem?

(with android phone at the same spot, everything works.)

Did you get a new microSIM with this Z10, or are you using an existing SIM?

Hi!

 

I am useing an existing sim, which I cut down to micro. 

20 Minutes ago I was able to update a the phone's software to 10.0.10.90 with the sim card of a friend.

Afterwards the data connections worked for 5 minutes very good. Now it's the same old problem:

"H", BB-Logo and 4 of 5 radio signal bars, but no working data connection.

Ha! During typing of this text it started working again. (opened google in the browser.)

1 minute later: And now it stopped working, again.

You need a new, fresh, microSIM card for your device.

Even if the existing card works fine on another device.

I don't know this. I suggest it because it is the simplest, easiest troubleshooting you can first perform to rule out the SIM card as a problem. It's a simple switch over.

 

Anything else would be more invasive, time consuming and challenging.

 

And, I have two friends who cut their own SIMs down who had similar to your issue, and once they got a SIM card exchange, the problem vanished.

Hi!

 

The problem solved itself.

I bought the phone Thursday and tried to use data connection the first time on Friday. At the weekend I only used wifi and at Monday I still had the data connection problems. 

After reading your post I went to a store of my provider to get a new micro-sim-card later the day.

Best thing: the guy in the shop told me, that they have extreme problems with the data connection in this area since... Friday! 

Today I have no problems, data connection is working properly.

I'll monitor this for the next couple of days and if anything changes I will report it.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion of changing the card! :-)

(Still, I will keep it in mind, if the problem occurs again.)
