Texting uses 1+ Watts of power

I am having terrible battery drain just from texting. I use the app battery guru and have found that every time I'm in the hub, it is using 1-1.3 Watts of power. Is this normal? I tried disabling some accounts and starting my device from fresh without any accounts but still find the same thing. Thank you for your time

Facebook and Twitter use 1.3-1.5 Watts of power on WiFi. Is this normal?

Hi jdgooghe,

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.

This KB article should help with any battery life issues you are experiencing. "How to maximize battery life on the BlackBerry 10 smartphone" KB33669

Let me know if that helps.

Re: Texting uses 1+ Watts of power

No it doesn't. I have done all of that. There is NO reason why a text message or BBM should use just as much power as the native facebook or twitter app. Right now, I am pulling 1.3 watts JUST from BBM. I have the SAME draw from facebook. I appreciate your help, I really do but this is frustrating. Is this normal? Should I expect less?
