Would like to exclude some email accounts from email count/notifications

I have an email account on my Z10 that I don't want any notification or count on the main screen.  I can exclude the email from the Hub but it still notifies me on the main screen that I have email.  It would be nice to exclude this so that I could check it once a day or as needed without being notified of every bit of spam that comes to this account.

  • Open your Hub.
  • Touch the bottom right three dots overflow icon.
  • Touch Settings
  • Touch Hub Management
  • For the email account you do NOT want to see in the Hub, turn it off.

When you want to see that email, simply reverse that setting and turn it on.

Thanks, I have done this and I do not see email in the Hub.  But whenever an email arrives on the account, I still get a flashing LED.  The screensaver screen shows these messages in the total unread mail count.  I only check this account as needed and do not want to be bothered at any other time.

Ok, ok.

 

Try going to your Settings > Notifications > email notifications and find that one email account and turn OFF all notifications.

I tried this out when I first downloaded 10.1.  When I tried it I saw a flashing led but I think that may have been from another notification.  I retested and the notification does not happen.  The count still show up.

 

This is a minor annoyance.  Thanks for you help.

Well, there is one alternative.  Change the Sync Interval for the Accounts settings for that specific email account to Manual... And just refresh when you wanna check the email...

That would help.  Would still need to go through all of the email to clear the count but a step in the right direction for now.   It's not the count in the hub view that is the problem it is the total on the screen saver that suggests you have something that you really need to read instead of a distraction.
