Re: Z10 Contact Transfer Possible Solution

I am using iCal not outlook and have been afraid to go fully to iCloud, because it will remove my calendar from my computer and if it is not successful, I will be lost. Do you know for certain that it will work? Or is there a way of transferring the calendar by syncing the two phones? I could then update the blackberry manually until they provide a fix.

Re: Z10 Contact Transfer Possible Solution

It's a 9780. Someone called me and I hope they are really from Blackberry saying that they were able to sync the calendar with icloud but did not understand why mine did not work and I gave them information that I am now concerned about. Have you heard of this?

Re: Z10 Contact Transfer Possible Solution

I have a Storm with version 5.0.0.419, I'm trying to transfer content to my new Z10.

The Bell sales person failed to transfer my contacts for me, but assured me I would be able to do this from my desktop.

From my desktop, the Link software has been a total fail, after many hours, repeated attempts, and scrounging through every menu option, how-to video, and troubleshooting tip BB seems to provide. Interesting how often the instructions provided completely fail to map to actual menu items / apps / options I actually see on either phone.

I'm getting fed up with being told how easy my data transfer will be by the BB marketing machine.

I'm still under the 30 minute mark on the phone and I'm seriously considering a return tomorrow. I am no tech and simply do not have the time to treat this device upgrade as some sort of special long form project!

Will keep reading down the list here to look for fix suggestions I might have a prayer of understanding, but meanwhile if anyone has success with a Storm I'd be delighted to have some step-by-step prodding.

Re: Z10 Contact Transfer Possible Solution

I've just wasted over six hours of my life on this dealbreaker of a problem, and followed the Gmail suggestion but on a PC. No joy, no contacts transfer.

It is appalling that BB has failed in this basic essential, and so spectacularly...  that they continue to fail to address this issue via any official statements or action is unforgivable.

When the salesperson failed to transfer my contacts at the store, she sent me off with assurances (like the site literature) that I would be able to do so from my desktop with no problem. If I had had one more phone call during the remainder of the afternoon I would have passed the 30 minute limit and, all too trustingly, lost the option to return the phone. I really, really, don't like being played for a sucker.

Re: Z10 Contact Transfer Possible Solution

Its really simple and worked for me: Just pair your old device to the new one via bluethooth and you are ready to go! Follow the below steps:

Step 1: Getting ready

First you need to pair your blackberry smartphone z10 to your old BlackBerry

Go to Settings > Network Connections > Bluetooth on your BlackBerry Z10 and turn on Bluetooth. Then on your old BlackBerry, go to the Bluetooth menu and pair with your  blackberry smartphone z10 .

Step 2: Transfer contacts to the BlackBerry Z10

On your old BlackBerry, go to the Bluetooth menu and then click on your new BlackBerry under paired devices. From the menu, select Transfer Contacts and all your contacts will transfer to your new blackberry smartphone z10 .
