Can anyone tell me if the Z10 supports Japanese language input, and the display of Japanese characters?
I have several Japanese colleagues who are currently using the BB 9780. These can support Japanese through a quick change of the phone OS.
Will the Z10 support Japanese from the start, or will the OS change method need to be applied?
The phones themselves will be used on the Vodafone UK network.

After playing around for a few hours, it certainly doesn't support it natively, although it does allow simplified and traditional Chinese, as well as what looks like hebrew and arabic. I also cannot find any options in the BlackBerry Link (replacement for Desktop Manager) that would relate to language.
One advantage on my previous blackberry is that it can at least display Japanese with no changes necessary.
I would be interested if anyone else has any more information.

Can anyone from Blackberry Support comment on my Japanese language issue?
I know that there was a twitter not long ago that was refereing to the availability of the BlackBerry 10 serie of phones in Japan

I think that tweet said that they would not be sold in Japan if IIRC. Which means no Japanese language support planned at this time, I think.

displaying shouldnt be a problem.
for inputting, closest thing i could find was this.
it is introducing the app called "gjapanese" which let you convert to japanese by accessing IME through network.
the blog article is written in japanese so let colleagues read it if they are interested.
the os changing method worked before QNX based os came out.
to be honest, since the playbook( also QNX based os running) never supported japanese input, i strongly doubt bb 10s will either.

They did announce a few weeks back that there would be no support for the Japanese market as the percentage of use was so low, something like.3% market share and the cost to add support for the Japanese language on BB10 didn't make sense.

We've ended up having to move everyone in the company (based in the UK) over to iPhones.
Keeps us all on the same platform, as well as giving us the full Japanese support.
