Thanks for your replay

  1. Locate the downloaded file and run the autoloader (double click on the EXE file) and a black DOS window appears indicating "Connecting to bootrom". The DOS window processes the install, and begins to load the OS. If you have a security passwored, you will be asked to enter it.
  2. In my case once the black DOS windows and the connecting to bootrom appears, nothing happened for two hours so i wonder if i had to do something else.
  3. is there an indication that something is working or i should just leave my pc an phone hooked until it does the magic.

fluciani, what model variant of Z10 do you have, and did you download the correct autoloader file to install to your model?

Well, that's the correct combination for that model and file.

Can you try a different USB port on the PC, or even a different PC?

Re: Z10 Stopped Working after updating to 4181 MR Update!

I just tryed to load the file into de Z10 using a different computer and cable.

I tried with the battery on an off the Z10.

With the battery ON nothing happens once you are on the black DOS and have the bootrom. prompt.

With the battery off and Z10 hooked on cable to the laptop, the phone tryes to come on every 30 sec.

At this stage if you have the bootrom conection, and the phone makes the 30 sec start attempt, the DOS windows will say connected and start loading the ram file, and on the phone the led light turns green.

Once the RAM loading arrives to 100% there is a quick display of some information and at the end it says

Error: failed to load image

Error: Security error

And then the phone turn off the green light and the Dos black window shut off and that's it

I finally did an attempt to load through Blackberry/update and once again the phone goes into a green light and 3/4 of the loading bar the phone turns off and it gives me the A:00000049 error.

Any idea what this error means? perhaps is the security error?

What else could i do!!.

I don't know. Sorry.

Remind me, where did you get this Z10, can you return it?

Re: Z10 Stopped Working after updating to 4181 MR Update!

I bought it in amazon and they only have 30 days guarantee and would not take my phone back.
just a thought...why did blackberry sold unlocked phones and claimed one year guarantee on hardware if it is impossible to return the phone...any way it is just a thought

Re: Z10 Stopped Working after updating to 4181 MR Update!

BlackBerry did not sell those phones, some third party vendor bought them at a carrier and sold them via Amazon.
