Z10 models available in Australia

Hi,

Just trying to understand which Z10 versions/models are available in Australian market.and which carriers or businesses sell which kind.

my undersatnding is that only the STL 100-1 and STL 100-2 mdels are in Australia but not clear who sells which type and what is the main difference between the 2 models.

appreciate any assistance to clarify so I can get the best option for me.

thanks in advance

Re: Z10 models available in Australia

The STL100-2 which I got from Optus has the best in and out of town reception which I've experienced on ANY handset. It downloaded the 0.6 Gigabyte OS update in seven minutes over 3G out of the city and the LTE is exceptional where available. Optus is cheaper than Telstra and the handset I received is unlocked and unbranded. Also, I've experienced none of the issues that you'll read about here. (Knock on wood).

Re: Z10 models available in Australia

Thanks for the prompt reply Simmo.

As I plan will be buying the phone outgright, I guess my additional query would be if anyone has the STL100-1 Model do they have any issues with it on the Australian network? Harvey Norman have advised that their online Z10 model for outright sale is the STL100-1 not the STL100-2.

gyp,

I bought mine from Optus on a plan. I think Telstra is also selling them but Vodafone are not. Hope this helps.

Re: Z10 models available in Australia

I'd say that the biggest difference between -1 and -2 is the fact that the -1 doesn't support LTE (4G). So the -1 isn't the overall best choice for Oz. Mind you, I have 4G turned off as it's not yet available here in Scrubby Creek. My opinion is that if you were to buy a -1, you'd be buying a less than optimal device - as per forward compatibility.
