my Z10 also have the same problem after os upraded to 10.1 OTA, it shuts down when battery still at 30% or 24% without any warning, could this be an OS 10.1 issue/bug, or there's something wrong with the hardware battery? please help..

Re: battery gone crazy after 10.1.0.273 update

I tried what you suggested (let it charge at least 15 minutes and LEAVE the charger connected and remove the battery), but my phone won't reboot after I replace the battery. It just shows a blinking LED (red, yellow, green all at the same time). Do you find any similar report? I'm on STL100-1 OS 10.1.0.273 Official.

Re: battery gone crazy after 10.1.0.273 update

Yess mr.JSanders i've read and done it step by step, but still my z10 battery indicator stays at 20% and suddenly shutdown, and I realise that when the battery indicator is full, it's showed only 96% battery but the indicator showed full battery, I'm also STL 100-1 OS realease 10.1.0.273 Official OTA, is it possibly an OS Bug?

Connect your Z10 to the PC and on the PC browser go to www.blackberry.com/upgrades.

You'll find a button there to load the OS to the device, when you click on that, remove and replace the battery (remaining connected to the USB cable) on the Z10, and see if an OS reload is initiated.

Re: battery gone crazy after 10.1.0.273 update

Err... rebooting and OS reloading are 2 different things, and I don't want to reload my phone's OS just to reset the on-device battery meter.

Didn't you stated your BlackBerry would not reboot?

Then this is not a 'reset the on-device battery meter" issue any longer.

Re: battery gone crazy after 10.1.0.273 update

Ok I've got some updates... after all my trials have failed, I decided to send the mobile to my operator, and after testing and investigation, they gave me a new battery under warranty...
I would like to mention that my battery health was 28% so maybe those having this issue should check their battery health as well and maybe get a new battery..
