contacts with multiple numbers please help!!

So I was playing around with my z10 today and realized that if you have a contact with multiple numbers there is no indication as to which number you are messaging or have messaged.  If you text both or all numbers within a contact and then come back to the convo they will all simplyread the contact title.  There is not indication that it is the work, mobile, home number in the text window,   This could pose a real problem when messaging people who have a work number and a personal one and you do not want to send personal things to a work #.  I though you could just click on a number in the contact and the chat history would appear but no dice.  Yes I know the workaround would be to list them as separate numbers but is there something I am missing. so that I can manage a persons various numbers in one contact listing?
