lost mobile signal doesn't reconnect

I've noticed a problem recently where the mobile signal is lost and shows as sos only with a red phone signal. When clicking on this it is searching for a network but finds no network.
If I turn off mobile connections and on again, it finds my network EE with a strong signal.
Anyone else see this?

Sorry to hear you're experiencing an issue with your signal.

 

Under Settings>About>OS, what's your software version? 

 

When do you notice the signal dropping - when you leave a WiFi network? After ending a call?

Im experiencing a similar problem. I dont get a sos or no signal symbol, my messages simple dont go through (whats app, bbm, text, phone calls) and then only after i manually turn my signal settings off and back on, my messages start going through again.

I have had v 1.1.0.273 since I initialized the phone.
I have noticed this behaviour when out of range of a wifi signal or it is weak. It has been on a charge or in my pocket then I see the red phone in the top right corner.

Are you in an area of poor mobile network coverage? 

 

What's your software version under Settings>About>OS? 

 

If you remove the battery to reboot, does the signal seem to remain stronger?

Are you in an area of poor mobile network coverage as well? 

 

Remove the battery and SIM card and then reinsert both. Ensure your SIM card is securely inserted and monitor the network.

I'm referring to times when there is little service such as at work or just a poor reception area. It's dropped out a few times but did not re establish connection when in a better signal area. A setting connection off then on again allowed it to connect with strong signal. Sim card is firmly seated.
