Its not good enough, Ive lost lots of very important work information. iphone and others warn you to backup before updating OS, Blackberry should have done the same. I didnt know this evenings OS update was a major replacememt of the OS that would delete my data, I thought it was just a small update.

It shouldn't have. Sorry for you loss.

Re: lost text messages

I know it is not good and blackberry should explain that you need to have backdated all the time. It would be good of them to explain the consequences of updating your phone and that you could lose important documents.

Re: lost text messages

the "restore" option isn't highlighted on BB link, its greyed out and says my handset isn't connected - but it is, via BB data cable?

Try a different USB port.

Reboot the PC from off and run Link again.
