unresponsive phone

Any suggestions as to how to reset an unresponsive phone, including the password program? Can't get in to any settings or desktop application.  Removing the battery doesn't work, or holding down power button.

Open Link software, plug phone into USB then click on Reload.

If that does not work then try the autoloader method.
