update 10.0.10.99

i have a z10 stl 100-1

 

I was prompted to update my z10 (Previous ver 10.0.10.261)

 

New ver 10.0.10.99

 

So is this actually an update upgrade on the 10.0.10.261?

Yes it is an upgrade.

 

10.0.10.99 refers to the software package version (which contains the updates) and 10.0.10.261 referes to the OS version.

 

I agree the numbering system is confusing but you can go ahead and safely update when prompted.

Hi,

 

i have a Z10 (STL100-2) with no branding and software 10.0.10.90. There should be an update 10.0.10.99, but when i choose software update, i get only the note that i have the newest software. I connected my Z10 via wlan and no sim-card, because my provider is eplus. How can i get that update, or is it not published already?

Frank, that is normal since updates are available at different times by different carries. So it may not be available to you yet or you will get another update when it's available.

i still dont get an update.. stuck at 10.0.10.261.... blackberry say the carrier will push it.. the carrier says that i have an unlocked phone so bb will push it!!

Well, now i have my update to 10.0.10.99 on my Z10  ... i had to use the sim card of a friend. Then it showed me the update and the installation worked.

I think BlackBerry should manage the updates without the carriers like apple does, because every user want's the update as soon as possible for their devices.

Absolutely agree as update so very important - I have an issue with my service provider (Orange) as they are so far behind the drag curve that they cannot even provide data to my Z10 - so maybe our oroviders need a kich up there proverbial backsides - our providers also have a responsibility but unfortunately their ego,s supersede their commitments to their clients....

It would be great if the update process can be streamlined and improved in future so that it is available to everyone as soon as possible.
