Z30 Proximity Sensor Issue

Currently using my Z30 Device and when I receive or make calls it doesn't turn off the screen however it keeps blinking and also if I use blackberry virtual expert the sensor return readings indicating that the sensors are working. I don't know what the issue is has anyone experience this issue before? Did anyone find a fix or is it a specific os related bug issue tried a few os leaks and even official ones no luck.

Currently on Os release 10.2.1.2160
Version 10.2.1.2234

Was on 10.2.1.2141 and it happens as well worked for a while then stopped again don't know what to do to get this working again.

Only thing have me doubting it's hardware Is the fact that all the sensors respond as they should using BlackBerry Virtual Expert Sensor Tests...that's what's baffling me..

Re: Z30 Proximity Sensor Issue

When you recieve a phone call, place the top edge of the device to your ear first, bringing the remainder of the phone to your ear after top edge.

I know that should NOT matter, but sometimes it can help in having the proximity sensor work correctly.

Re: Z30 Proximity Sensor Issue

I have been having the same issue for a couple of weeks. Virtual expert fails. Proximity and light sensor tests fail on Z30STA100-5/10.2.1.2141 (Z30).

Re: Z30 Proximity Sensor Issue

Well with me it passes in virtual expert and does work with the phone app I am starting to think it's a bug of some sort messing with it well in am hoping you can try a hard reset and see if it fixes your issue with virtual expert by holding down the both volume buttons until it reaches the loading icon and then release it and try virtual expert again I don't want to believe such a new device and so many hardware defects I saw other users on cb complaining about the same issue of it not working and failing in virtual expert

Re: Z30 Proximity Sensor Issue

No change.
Very disappointed as of late with quality across multiple models. I find myself having to send 9900's to q10, z10 and z30's back for repair shortly after purchasing. I have about 30 iPhone and Androids on the field and not once have I had to return those for repair. At least one blackberry device per week goes back ND I have about 150 BlackBerry devices in the field.

Re: Z30 Proximity Sensor Issue

Hmm I haven't had much issues with the q's and zed 10s and I have quite a bit deployed..well I hope someone sees these issues and address them because I am testing a z30 which may be the device for the management team where I work and if this isn't resolved I may have to consider recommending other products which i'm not to keen on introducing to the environment I like to keep it simple if not we'll need to mix it up.

Re: Z30 Proximity Sensor Issue

Sinnaz0790, this is not a know issue on the #Z30 nor the latest OS releases so I suspect it may just on your single device. Ask your provider for another handset to test.
