ok - could you explain why one BB will open and the z30 will not....

because old BB used BIS servers and the BB10 uses its own mail client

I dont have these issues when using Active Sync on Outlook.com

Gmail blocks active sync on non android devices. Godaddy has had limits too unless on a paid account.

Re: winmail.dat Z30

I have just come to the conclusion that......

IT IS NOT THE PHONE/DEVICE....

IT IS NOT THE PERSON SENDING IT.....

It has to do with the EMAIL PROVIDER that your phone is linked to (ex. mine is GoDaddy).  For some reason GoDaddy doesn't process it correctly.

Knowledge base to come to this conclusion:

- Wife sent calendar invite to my GoDaddy email.  Phone says "winmail.dat"

- Wife sends the same invite to my old hotmail account and when accessed on my phone comes up PERFECTLY!

Do not know any fix yet.  Still doing research.....

Hope this helps,

Brian

Re: winmail.dat Z30

It's the sending email server. Trust me I experience this quite often and have to deal with it.

Re: winmail.dat Z30

JSanders,

Couple questions:
1. How come the sending email server sends it properly to my Hotmail email but messes up sending it to my GoDaddy email account?
2. How do you "deal with it"? Is there solutions to this problem?

Thanks,

Brian

Re: winmail.dat Z30

1. I don't know.  I get them one day as winmail.dat on my PC GoDaddy email, and turn to my BlackBerry to view it correctly (not as winmail.dat); and then another day, it's just the opposite.

2. I just deal with it by check my email on another source (PC, BlackBerry, webmail) and one of them will have the correct file type.

Re: winmail.dat Z30

Some exchange servers are setup wrong and allow Rich Text Formatting to be sent out.

I had this issue at work and set my server to only send in plain text or HTML.
