Never miss a beat: Subscribe to Boards or Topics

[ Edited ]

Subscriptions & Bookmarks are a great way to keep up to date on what’s happening on the Forums.

By default, you are subscribed to all threads that you take part in. This can be changed in one of 2 ways.

1: Turn off the default setting.

Some users do not want to receive an update every time someone posts in a thread after them. If you navigate to; My Settings/Subscriptions & Bookmarks, you can then check/uncheck the box for automatic subscriptions. You can choose to receive the notification Immediately (default), a daily digest, or a weekly digest.

2: Subscribe on a thread by thread basis.

If you remove (or add) the check mark in the default user settings, you can still subscribe/unsubscribe on a thread by thread basis. When you select ‘Reply’ on a post, there is a check box to the right of the text editor to subscribe to the thread. Note: ‘Quick Reply’ uses your default setting and cannot be changed on a thread by thread basis.

So now that we’ve looked at thread subscriptions, let’s look at board subscriptions and bookmarks. As you progress and become more familiar with a particular device, you may want to be notified of each new thread started on ‘your’ board. From the main category, select the board you want to be notified by, and select the ‘Options’ dropdown menu. From here you can ‘Subscribe’. You also can add the board as an RSS feed if that is your preference or bookmark it.

Now you never have to miss a beat, or receive notifications that you don't want.
