BB Website: Where is the proper contrast?

[ Edited ]

You are using LIGHT blue on white for your website text...

do you want me to go blind?

Tell your webmaster to refresh him/herself on how to use

contrasting colors/shades, to IMPROVE readability.... geeeeeezzz!

Re: BB Website: Where is the proper contrast?

The light blue color is used only on hot-linked text or URLs.

The primary body text is a dark gray (and I wish it was a darker gray), but it's been discussed before and was included in a site remake a couple years ago.

Re: BB Website: Where is the proper contrast?

On a WHITE/LIGHT background, it is too light.... on a BLACK/DARK background, it is too dark.

Why would it be so hard, to change it to a DARKER BLUE on white, and a LIGHTER BLUE on black?

Is the OWNER of the website, ALSO the webmaster/programmer?... and everyone is afraid to tell him/her?

I am a webmaster myself, and a change like that, would take less than 10 minutes.

COMMON SENSE, (hopefully), should prevail in this matter...... yes?

Re: BB Website: Where is the proper contrast?

Yes, it should, but it hasn't.

Re: BB Website: Where is the proper contrast?

I am having a great deal of difficulty trying to negotiate this fourum due to the lack of contrast in things like spell check, post, reply, etc.  Can't even find a link to log out.  In some spots there are just no links shown and I had to run my curser back and forth over a page till it suddenly discovered a link.  I would press and hope I was opening what I was looking for.  It has taken me 15 minutes of doing this just to find a link to post this message.  Why are these links hidden in the same colour as the page background?  They are either white or in a grey that is so light as to be illegible.  Hope someone can correct this or tell me how to reconfigure my computer so I can read the links.

Cheers,

Petie.

PS--now I have to find a send or post link!

Re: BB Website: Where is the proper contrast?

Petie, seems you found the post button well.
You just have some odd contrast settings in your PC. The new message (to create your own thread) is at the top left of forum section. It says "New Message".

Re: BB Website: Where is the proper contrast?

Yes, I did find it.  More by luck than anything else.  All my computer and monitor controls are set for the best contrast, resolution, and brightness.  This is the ONLY site that I have visited where I have had this problem of things not being visible.  I have adjusted my monitor controls to way off the factory default settings in order to try and view the links buttons but they are still very hard to read.

Re: BB Website: Where is the proper contrast?

[ BB doesn't know how to fix this simple website problem ]
The only 2 ways to solve this apparently "un-fixable" problem, is to:
1. GET ANOTHER BRAND OF PHONE, so that you never have to come here again; OR...
2. Put your mouse near the bottom right corner of a page, and drag it up to the top-left of the page - it will be easier to see any and all parts of the text clearer, at least.

THE STAFF IS PROBABLY ALL IN THEIR 70'S, AND DON'T NOTICE THE PROBLEM, BECAUSE THEY CAN'T EVEN SEE IT THEMSELVES, AND HAVE TOO MANY ACHES AND PAINS, TO TYPE IN THE CORRECT COLOR-CODING......

Wow.

And you're a 14 year old smart aleck whose parents never popped you on the posterior, or they just sat back and laughed at you when you acted out?

Petie, what browser are you using, IE, FF, Chrome or ?

Please look at my screen capture below, the BIG black button "New Message" does not appear on your browser like this image?

What else is different on your screen?
