Forum Rankings and Custom Avatars

Hi guys,

Not really sure where this was supposed to go (there's no real general discussion forum), so I have a quick question. I'm aware that one can only use a custom avatar after reaching a certain forum rank (ie. specialist I). What rank is this? How many posts are required? Furthermore, does anyone know what the different tiers are? In other words, I'm wondering how many posts each subsequent rank requires, or if there's some kind of dynamic relativity system for Elite status like Newgrounds uses (the top 10 titles are awarded based on a dynamic algorithm relative to the other users' daily activity/history).

Thanks,

~Dom

Lithium hides them and does not allow users to view it on most of their forums (the adult swim ones show you, also hosted by lithium), it's like their lil surprise for the user for when you reach a new rank...they do have hard set limitations but the "mods" can bump you up as they see fit as well.

Roles and ranks

Roles and ranks are a big part of a Lithium community. Roles are given by site maintainers and include things such as moderators and administrators. When given a role, a tag will appear next to the selected user's name.

Ranks are handed out to everyone, usually automatically, although not always. Ranks can be acquired depending on several circumstances. On the Adult Swim and Nintendo boards, ranks are gained when a certain combination of posts, minutes online, page views, and an old enough registration date is established. Other ranks, such as the rank that moderators and site owners have, cannot be achieved by regular users, and can only be given by role.

I am still a Visitor here! :(

Hello Everyone!

I have one question regarding the role (or rank) here.

Though I have registered here properly, it still shows "Visitor" below my ID. Can anyone tell me why it doesn't show "New Memeber" instead?

Thanks,

- Rohan

Hey Doctor

Visitor isone of the ranks.  The early ranks depend on how many posts you have and how long you have been logged in. As you create more posts your ranking will go up.

Ay questions please let me know

Good Call Andy, I thought Visitor was someone who had not verified their info yet since I have seen New Users with less posts then this person has.

There is a couple of crossovers in the rankings  as the calculations take into account combination of factors.  The higher you go the more factors come into play

Re: I am still a Visitor here! :(

Hi Andy,

Thanks for the reply. But I have seen many members here who are also very new and have couple of posts only. But still it shows "New Member" below their name. And I am getting "Visitor". As you said, there are diff factors are considered, I hope there is not any problem with my account here.

Thanks,

- Rohan
