well, it's a question of priorities, as always.
Many evolutions have been available during the year for the desktop website.
Maybe it can be used directly for users using OS 4.6 or 4.7 ? I never tried.

if you just want to read the forum on your device, you have a very elegant way of doing it using Viigo. there is an article about it in the Comunity Post blog.

I personally think that the mobile website is a great idea, but I will never really use it because my needs are very high (I usually have 6 or 7 tabs opened on the forum at the same time, as well as 3 or 4 to the BTSC and 1 for my RSS feed of BTSC.
