Error installing Apps on my Z10 from BB World

I've just recently started to get an error message on my Z10 when downloading apps that say “Error Installing Application” with a red bar. I thought it may have been the app I was originally trying to download, but I tried others and I continued to get that same message. Generally I have not had a problem in updating apps. I have tried rebooting many time but to no avail. I'm running OS 10.2.1.2102.

I suggest that you clear the AppWorld application cache.

Thanks for the suggestion. I cleared the cache and and the problem still persists.

OK...then next...with a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (step 1 should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):

1) Register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
  • Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive

2) Reboot

  • Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
  • BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
  • See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you may need to contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

Tried this solution. Didn't receive a registration message so I called up the helpline of the service provider. I was informed that there was no problem at their end and that the set is properly registered on their network. In any case, I went to step 2 and rebooted the device. Unfortunately the problem still persists.

If you don't receive the registration message (it can flash through quickly...so you need to be quick to see it), then what they tell you is not correct. Without the registration confirmation message, your device and their network are not properly communicating. And only they can look at their network to determine why. And only they can formally escalate to BlackBerry if they need the additional help.

Consider -- you pay your carrier for all of your services and therefore all of your service-related support. At the moment, it appears that they are delivering neither to you.

Hi, I am facing similar problem with my Z10. Facing "Error installing Application" while trying to download the apps from blackberry world. I tried step one and got a Registration confirmation message but couldnt get a solution. Tried, Second step and resulted same. I triend security wipe, reinstalling the OS but nothing helped me. I am on 10.2.1.2102 Software Release. Can you please suggest me what would be next possible step to find a soultion for this problem.
