License Expired Message for Astroboy TV Episode

I purchased and started to download an Astroboy TV Episode onto my Z10 (I have the latest OS verison).  However, after 1MB of the episode was downloaded, a message appeared which said something like "Video has expired" and then the download aborted.  The episode still appears in the Active Downloads section of BB World.  I have downloaded other TV episodes with no issues.  Being the curious type, I purchased a second Astroboy episode and got the same result.  How can I get this resolved?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

I suggest that you clear the AppWorld application cache.

  • KB24714 How to clear cache for BlackBerry World on BlackBerry smartphones and the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet

Hopefully it'll work for you! Good luck and let us know!

Re: License Expired Message for Astroboy TV Episode

I followed the steps and cleared the BBWorld cache. After loading BBWorld again, the episode showed that they were ready to download again. I started the download and got the following message: "The license for Astro Boy 1963 - Season 01 - Episode 30 - The Super Duper Robot has expired. You will need to purchase this content again.".

Interesting...and quite unfortunate for your situation. Hence, I think all I can recommend is that you seek refund now and then decide how you wish to proceed. You can seek refund via:

  1. Disputing the charge on your credit card
  2. Contacting your Mobile Service Provider
  3. Via the BB refund request site:

Good luck!

OK. I'll go with option 3. Will anybody at BB fix the underlying issue? The options for young kids shows are limited in the Canadian BB Store. I get a refund but I still can't buy any of the episodes of this series. Not a great business model...

Here in this user-to-user community, there is no way to officially know what BlackBerry will or will not do.

Good luck!

I definitely would like this problem solved as well. I just bought Iron Man 3 at a great sale but can't download. Tried the refresh and it didn't help. I've submitted the request for a refund but I'd much the movie at that price (and a few more that are also on sale right now).

Update: bought it from the Video Store on PlayBook instead, which gives a similar error "Unable to connect to license servers." Tried to delete from the queue and redownload, as recommended by their Help page, but it says I've reached my download limit so won't let me.

In other words, I think it is best to just give up on buying things from BlackBerry.

Yes, I've encountered the same error with the same movie. I bought three other movies and downloaded them successfully on the 99 cent special, but IM3 won't download (gets 3MB into the download then tells me "the license has expired")

Checked the Crackberry forums. There are dozens if not hundreds who had problems with Iron Man 3.
