Re: Lloyds Banking App for the Q10

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

From what you report, it sounds indeed like the app developer has not updated there site in quite a while. I've always preferred that the developers list the specific major OS levels that they support, since "and above" can become invalid as newer OS's are released.

In any event, it's up to the developer to decide the specific device models and major OS levels that they choose to support. With BB10, this became more complicated for them since BB10 is not an evolution from legacy BBOS...rather, it is a completely new OS built from the ground up, starting with a completely different platform than legacy. Consequently, to support BB10, the developers cannot simply "port" their app to it...they must rewrite their app from scratch. Many choose not to do so.

In any event, the only place that can actually answer the question is the developer...for they control the device models and OS levels that they support. Hopefully they have contact information on that website you have visited.

As an alternative, if there is an Android or iOS version of the app, you can consider side-loading it to BB10. As with PlayBook, BB10 supports this capability. Your choices are to search for an already converted .bar file for the app, and then choose one of the various methods of installing it to your device, or to obtain the apk file (signed only, last time I checked) and use an app called SideSwype (available in BBWorld) to upload, convert, download, and install to your device.

Good luck!
