Missing Apps/BBM Contacts

My girlfriend's Q5 had an issue where there were some 'blocks missing, resulting in an inability to boot properly'. Was sent off and just came back from her carrier. The device is working now, but some of the apps that she downloaded when they were on sale (read:free) during Blackberry's event now shows a price and her BBM contacts are now gone. 

 

Maybe I'm unaware but I assumed that like Android, the apps you bought (even if they were on sale/free) could still be downloaded as you 'paid' whatever the amount was. As with BBM contacts, that was also something I thought would be tied to the account and would sync back once she signed in with her Blackberry account.

Hello, yes purchased apps are tied to the BlackBerry ID used. You can re-install them from BlackBerry World. And BBM contacts also sync back.
