Skype?

When will Skype be available for Z10 and Playbook???

I have a hard time believing that Blackberry does not have this enabled and ready to go as an application.  There are so many things I like about the reliability of BB, but without improved apps it's becoming increasingly more difficult to support BB and meet my requirements. Z10 is suppose to address a need for a single business/personal phone - skype is an easy one!

Re: Skype?

But Blackberry does not develop Skype, it is not up to Blackberry to enable this app as you say. You have to wait for the developers just like everyone else. I love my BB10, I also have some personal issues with the phone, but I cannot blame Blackberry becasue a third-party app is not available.

hello Iggrant,

are you sure of that?

Here are some facts:

  • skype belongs to Microsoft
  • Microsoft does not open their entire Skype APIs
  • a true skype app can thus be developped by Microsoft.
  • Windows Phone 7 has been released for more than 6 months
  • skype for Windows Phone 7 was released by Microsoft only a month ago

So Windows Phone users had to wait for more than half a year to get skype.
 How easy is this?
