Yahoo! Messenger for O/S 10 Can't Send Messages To Non-Contacts?

i used to be able to send YM! messages to non-contacts using O/S 7.1 but now with O/S 10 it doesn't seem to possible anymore.  is this true or am i missing something?

Hey donb,

This feature is currently not available for Yahoo Messenger for the BlackBerry Z10.

Thanks.

so are there plans to make it available?  it was very convenient to use the Send Message feature because i have a lot of friends and scrolling to their name can be quite tedious.  i also have many people that i've been chatting with for years and years that are not on my Friends list.

if i wait until they message me first, i can keep the chat session open and Send a message that way but that's kind of a pain though.

please re-consider adding such feature.  thanks.
