Re: apps

No, you can't.

Who told you that?

There are MANY MANY Android apps converted to BB10 apps and in your BlackBerryWorld store.

You can also "sideload" converted android bar files to your Z10 (some, not all).

But you cannot download, purchase or install direct from Google Play.

Re: apps

Thank you very much. I was told by someone who obviously didn't know what they were talking about.

Ok, well, that happens.

If you need further info about either of the above, please post back.

Re: apps

Why do so many apps want to access personal info on my phone? Are these apps safe? They want to access stuff like my location pin number of phone pictures etc.?

Re: apps

Well, many reasons.

For instance, GasBuddy might want access to your BBM to notifiy friends you found cheap gas. To your GPS to know where you are. etc. and so on.

Some apps explain clearly WHY they need to access to certian information some do not.

If you don't want to give an app access to certain data, deny that permission. If later you discover that data in vital to the optimal operation of the application, you can change that permission!

Good luck.

Re: apps

How DOES one sideload android apps?

I've tried downloading them via the Playstore but since my Z10 is not supported I cannot install the play store app and thus can't download anything from there.

There isn't much I would want to have from the Play store, since most things I would want I already use on my transformer tablet, but apps like wordfeud and songpop I would like to be able to use on my Z10.
