ActiveRichTextField - Keep FOCUSABLE but only make "active" content selectable.

This was the closest thread I could find, but not quite what I need:

I was hoping there was a flag or method I could call.  Here is the problem...when I move focus to the ActiveRichTextField, the "non-active" (plain-text) part of the text shows a selection (blue caret).  I do not want non-active text to be selectable, but only allow the "active" (i.e. link) regions to be selectable.

Does this make sense?  I could attempt to explain a little better.

I have tried variations of styles (e.g. Field.FOCUSABLE | Field.READONLY | Field.HIGHLIGHT_FOCUS), but none are giving the behavior I need.

Thanks.
