AppWorld payment tiers

I am in the process of publishing an app in AppWorld and this app has purchasable content. What I don't understand is why there are pricing tiers in the good section where I would rather expect to have an entry field and add there my desired raw price?

Existing tiers are - just a short list: 'Tier099 - 0.99$', 'Tier199 - 1.99$', 'TierRIM - 4$' and so on ...

Maybe I missed it, but is there any fee that RIM keeps for a purchase? Like Android Market and AppStore take 30% ...

Re: AppWorld payment tiers

don't forget that Google's payment system, Checkout, also takes 3% on top of that.

Yeah ,the "tiered price selection" thing is mind boggling.

RIM takes 30%. They used to only take 20%, but also charged $20 for each submitted app (not updates). When they eliminated app submission cost, they bumped the rate from 20% to 30%.
