ApplicationMenuItem always visible without scrolling

I have added two application menuItems to the addressbook. However in some cases i have to scroll to view the menuitem i have added.

I want to make sure the added applicationmenuitem is always visible (without scrolling) when the user clicks the menu button.

How to achieve this?

Re: ApplicationMenuItem always visible without scrolling

not possible, the items are controlled by the OS and there is no API to change the behavior.

Re: ApplicationMenuItem always visible without scrolling

Thanks for the reply Simon.

Is it possible that the applicationmenuitem which i have added is always visible at the first instance when the user clicks the menu button irrespective of number of menu items already existing?

Re: ApplicationMenuItem always visible without scrolling

You may as well consider setting the ordinal when you create a menu item depending upon the number of menu items in your application(particular screen).

ex. MenuItem(String text,
                int ordinal,
int priority). Lower value for ordinal places your menu item on the top while higher value does exactly the opposite.
If there is any other way around to show your menu item dynamically to be upfront, I am not aware of it. I hope this info might be helpful.

Re: ApplicationMenuItem always visible without scrolling

the OP is talking about http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/7.1.0api/net/rim/blackberry/api/menuitem/ApplicationMenuIt...

you can use the order value, but it is not guaranteed to solve the problem. as i said, there is no API to control the behavior.
