BB 9800 sim not firing trackpad events

I'm running the UiToolkitDemo sample app in my Blackberry 9800 simulator using the Eclipse plugin for Windows. The sample app reads "Swipe the trackpad. Swipe direction will be displayed on screen". I pressed the F12 key, and when I move the mouse, the red arrows on the trackpad begin to glow in accordance with the direction in which I moved the mouse. But nothing is displayed on the screen.

I found an old thread about the same problem on a different simulator. It suggested to re-install the simulator. I've cleaned the simulator, which didn't help, but I was unable to find an uninstallation routine.

How can I un- and reinstall a simulator? Are there any other known solutions to this problem?

Re: BB 9800 sim not firing trackpad events

I was able to reproduce this and it appears to be an issue with the 6.0 simulator.  The sample worked fine on a real BlackBerry Smartphone and in the 7.0 simulator.
