BIS/BES roaming question

[ Edited ]

Hi,

Just a quick question on BIS/BES connection.

If the user is roaming, and my application connects with suffices for BIS/BES, am I right that whether they will be charged will depend on the presence of a Wi-Fi connection?

So if the data goes through Wi-Fi, they won't be charged but otherwise they will?

My application provides the following checkboxes for network connections, and connects in the same order:

1. Wi-Fi

2. BES

3. BIS

4. GPRS (direct TCP)

[ ] Disable mobile networks when roaming

Do you think this is sensible? If the "Disable" checkbox is checked, should I disable all BES, BIS and GPRS on roaming?

Re: BIS/BES roaming question

if you use http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/5.0.0api/net/rim/device/api/system/CoverageInfo.html#isCov...(int, int, boolean) with only WAF_WLAN to check if your BES/BIS is routed using wifi (or serial bypass). if not, you can disable the networking.
