I have set up following BlackBerry Development Enviornment.
1. BlackBerry JED 4.7
2. BlackBerry Email and MDS Simulator 4.1.4
3. BlackBerry WebLoader 1.1.0
If i try to run the MDS through standalone option (Option 2 stated above). MDS runs fine and I am able to access Internet though browser.
But if i try to run MDS though the option provided internal to JDE (Option 1). MDS is not running. Command window opens for fraction of second and then closes. Some how i managed to catch snap of that and the error is "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError. Bad Version number in .class file" Not sure what is the issue.
As per my understand MDS should work from both options.
Please provide your inputs.
Thanks in advance,

I tried a workaround, i copied the MDS folder from standalone Blackberry Email and MDS installed folder and copied to Blackberry JDE folder, and it runs. I am not sure it was a installation problem or something else. As on one machine it worked without this workaround. But didnt work on another.
So standalone MDS works fine everywhere, but MDS coming with JDE is not working on some machines. If i copy standalone MDS to JDE folder it works.
Please correct me if this is fine to do this.

Hi BB Developer,
I tried on three machines. Two inside company network. One of them it worked. One machine is normal DSL machine. There also it worked.
One more thing i would like to mention, i have downloaded eclipse plugin also. That has all 4.3, 4.5, 4.6 , 4.7 version component packs. Inside those also we have MDS folder. But here also it only works for 4.3 version and gets closed after some time as mentioned in the link, for others i get same error which i posted earlier. I am not able to conclude from so much of varied behaviour.
So i assumed, there might be some problem during installation. So if i copy the standalone copy of MDS to JDE home, then it is working fine. And i guess it should not cause any problem to use standalone MDS also. As it for connecting you to network.
Please correct my understanding.

Ya, Baiscally the MDS is to simulate your data transfer thru MDS.
Well if your Java version is compatiable with teh MDS, there should not be any problem running MDS.
