Blackberry ESS problem(Very Urgent)

I wanted to test an app I wrote by sending emails via the ESS in connected mode.
I entered pop & smtp Server names and other details of gmail

like

Email.deviceId =2100000A
Email.pop3Server=pop.gmail.com
Email.smtpServer=smtp.gmail.com
Email.personal=anita

Email.address=lakambleanita@gmail.com
Email.smtpPort=587
Email.pop3Port=995

and it seems to work.
But after a short time I get the following error messages:

Re: Blackberry ESS problem(Very Urgent)

Something is blocking the connection to your mail servers.  Are you able to connect using another email program?  If so, check any local firewalls running on your PC to ensure that the ESS has permission to make the required connections.

Re: Blackberry ESS problem(Very Urgent)

I am running my email client and ESS on a virtual machine. Here is the scenario

1) ESS starts perfectly

2) Device simulator starts perfectly and connects to ESS

3) When my email client sends email with attachment (HTM) ESS server screen throws exception and email is not received in the device simulator (9700)

Exception in thread "Thread-8" java.lang.NullPointerException at net.rim.mailboxwatcher.yww.run(Unknown Source)

Facts:

Using standalone mode. POP3 and SMTP ports are configured

There is not place in the email client to configure POP3 port.

SMTP server is congifured as "localhost" on email client.

Can someone suggest what should be the reason on the exception and how i can prevent it from happening?

Thanks

Abhi
