Re: Blackberry perl 8100 version 4.2.0.71 giving Exception "Missing RCC signature"

Hi Mark,

According to the web site (http://na.blackberry.com/eng/developers/javaappdev/codekeys.jsp), the RCC key is only required if the following classes are used:

  • CryptoByteArrayArithmetic
  • CryptoInteger
  • DHCryptoSystem
  • DHCryptoToken
  • DHKey
  • DHKeyAgreement
  • DHKeyPair
  • DHPrivateKey
  • DHPublicKey
  • DSACryptoSystem
  • DSACryptoToken
  • DSAKey
  • DSAKeyPair
  • DSAPrivateKey
  • DSAPublicKey
  • DSASignatureSigner
  • DSASignatureVerifier
  • ECCryptoSystem
  • ECCryptoToken
  • ECDHKeyAgreement
  • ECDSASignatureSigner
  • ECDSASignatureVerifier
  • ECIESDecryptor
  • ECIESEncryptor
  • ECKey
  • ECKeyPair

But in the midlet we are not using any of the above class.  Is it still a requirement for us to get the RCC from Certicom?

The RCC key should not be required if you are not using any of the classes listed.  What protocol are you using in the Connector.open method?

That should be fine as well.  Please verify that you have not accidental imported a class that requires RCC signing.  You don't have to actually use a class to require singing.  Importing it is enough to trigger the signing requirement.
