Button Click Event

[ Edited ]

Hello ,

I Have Added A Button On My Blackberry Screen And I Have A Class Called WebCall Which Has Socket Connection

http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/7.1.0api/javax/microedition/io/SocketConnection.html

I Want That When I Click The Button, It Calls The WebCall Class.

How Do I Archive This ?

Thank You

Re: Button Click Event

Invoking some processing on a Button click was discussed on this Thread:

http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Java-Development/Pushing-Screen/td-p/2399831

In this case you need to be aware that the button click processing is running on the Event Thread.  But to do blocking operations like network activity, you need to do this on your own Thread:

http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Java-Development/What-is-the-Event-Thread/ta-p/446865

http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Java-Development/Blocking-operation-not-permitted-on-event-di...

So you will need to start a Thread to do your network processing.  Thread processing on BlackBerry is pretty similar to standard Java Thread processing, so there is no specific BB documentation for this, but you should plenty of Java samples if you look round.

As per the first link I referenced, I would recommend that you study samples that you will find.  They will never do exactly what you want, but while you are learning, it is better to start with a working sample and make small changes to get it to what you want, than try to create everything from scratch.

And you should make yourself very familiar with this micro-site:

Good luck and have fun!
