CallLog and Address Book

If you create a call log entry with a number and set the name using PhoneCallLogID.setName("Foo Bar"), the name does not show up in the phone application when you view the recent calls. However, if you add an address book entry with the name/number combination then the name will show up in the phone application, i assume because it's looking it up in the address book. Is this a feature or am i missing something?

Re: CallLog and Address Book

The Phone application should display the number that was called unless it matches an entry in the user's contact list.  If it does, then the name from the contact is shown.

Re: CallLog and Address Book

So PhoneCallLogID.setName() is useless?

Re: CallLog and Address Book

According to the JavaDocs, this method should override the entry from the address book.  So there is either an issue with the method or with its JavaDocs.  This has been reported to our development team.
