Can individual keys be disabled on the Storm's touchscreen keyboard?

I have an application that disables users from typing the same letter more than once by listening for key press events.  It would be great if I could mark the keys that the user already pressed on the Storm's touchscreen keyboard.  Can a key be disabled (grayed out or the like) on the Storm's touchscreen keyboard? If it can, how is it done?

As far as I know there is no direct way to disable/lock virtual keyboard buttons, but you can do it in your application, override keyChar() and analyze key presses at runtime.
