Can you help me

Hi I want to write an app which has the following requirements:

1. I have already installed an application (say for example HelloWorld) on my device (emulator in my case).

2. I will open browser and type some data (a url), then automatically  my already installed application should be invoked.

How can I do this in BlackBerry.

Can any one please guide me to this.

Thanks,

Manoj.

Re: Can you help me

hi,

if you type some media file url in Browser, the default BlackBerry player will be invoked.

In the same way, for some url, I want my app to be invoked.

Thanks,

Manoj.

Re: Can you help me

I think we need to set the default application of yours for certain file types. Then it will invoke, when you provide certain file types in the browser url, it in-turn calls your application.

Re: Can you help me

I think you can do it by following steps :

1. Upload Jad and Cod(Jar) files to web server.

2. Need to link Jad file to the web.

Re: Can you help me

Hi baskar,

can you please tell me how to do this?

What I want to do is:

if I provide a link like: www.someRemoteSite.com/songs/abc.mp4,

then my own player app should be invoked.

Thanks,

Manoj.

Re: Can you help me

No no... The application should be on the device itself not on any webserver.

From the mobile's browser, if some one types some url, then my app should be invoked.

Re: Can you help me

You can create an HttpFilter so that your application is launched whenever a specific domain is accessed.  The application can then supply data to the browser.  The httpfilterdemo included with the BlackBerry JDE is an example of this.

Alternatively, you could create a string patter that when matched, gives the user the option to invoke your application.  You can see an example here:
