Clear the status of a MainScreen

by Retired ‎02-12-2010 03:39 PM - edited ‎09-16-2010 02:48 PM (957 Views)

This article applies to BlackBerry® wireless devices based on Java™.

The MainScreen.setStatus method allows a developer to display information in the status area located at the bottom of the screen. Once the status has been set, it can be cleared by adding a NullField to the status area.

The code sample below shows a LabelField being added to the status area followed by a NullField, which will result in the status area being cleared:

//Instantiate MainScreen
MainScreen myScreen = new MainScreen();
//Add a label to the status area
mainScreen.setStatus(new LabelField("Hello there"));
//Clear the status area
mainScreen.setStatus(new NullField());
