Is the IP address you are connecting to a public IP or is it on your Intranet? Are you able to use the BlackBerry Browser? Verify that the BlackBerry Browser is set to the default browser (Options, (Advanced Options), Browser) and try to connect to the same IP address. Is it able to connect? If not, it looks like the BlackBerry Enterprise Server is unable to connect to that server. It works in the BlackBerry Simulator because you can connect to it from your PC.
