I'm unable to get a proper https connection in OS 7. The following code works in 5 and 6, but in 7 it returns a null descriptor. If I use http://www.google.com, it works fine. I tried messing with all of the other settings to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
ConnectionFactory factory = new ConnectionFactory(); ConnectionDescriptor descriptor = factory.getConnection("https://www.google.com");//this.url);

That didn't seem to do anything different. If it helps any, I'm using a 9930 7.0 Simulator, compiling with JRE 5.0. It runs for about a minute (I'm guessing the default timeout length) then just returns a null descriptor.
Did you happen to try this yourself and see it working?

I think I figured out it was a default setting on the simulator itself. I had to go into "Manage Connections" and select Wifi, then select Default WLAN. After I did that, https started working as usual. That's very strange that I'd be able to browse and even do a getConnection on http until I changed that setting.
